    ESL TEACHERS NEEDED: The Michigan Language Center at 309 South State Street in downtown Ann Arbor is accepting resumes for teachers to teach English to international students 6, 10, 14, 16 or 20 hours per week. There may be classes available as soon as May 6, 2015. There are also possibilities for future employment.


    A university degree, ESL certification or a related advanced degree and previous experience in an ESL classroom situation is absolutely necessary. An MA degree in ESL or a related field is preferred.

    Language Center International is soliciting resumes for ESL instructors for the May/June term due to:


    1. an expanding program and


    2. staff on maternity leave.

    Classes meet Monday to Thursday from 8:45 to 6:15 and Fridays 8:00 to 4:55.

    Our March term runs from May 4th to June 12th.

    Part-time Positions Expanding ESL program:

    All applicants must have a minimum of a BA degree. Preference is given to applicants with an MA or higher in ESL, English, Linguistics, Applied Linguistics or Foreign Languages. Applicants without a degree in ESL should have a minimum of the equivalent of three months of full-time ESL teaching experience, or a certificate in teaching ESL or foreign language that includes a practice teaching component. All applicants should have experience working with adult international students; possess native or near native abilities in English with minimal errors in writing and speaking and have good communication skills and knowledge of computer operations. Knowledge of a second language and overseas experience are preferable but not required.

    New part-time instructors with a BA start at $22.00 per hour. MA instructors start at $23. Bonuses and pension plan are additional benefits.

    Location: Currently, we have available positions in Canton, Dearborn, Rochester, Rochester Hills and Shelby Township. More cities throughout Metro Detroit may be added at any given time.


    Job description: We are in immediate need of ESL tutors throughout the Metro Detroit area.  We currently have approximately 10 clients, with more expected, in the following areas: Canton, Dearborn, Rochester, Rochester Hills, and Shelby Township. Our clients are corporate executives and/or their family members that have relocated from various countries on international job assignments. The private lessons would take place during various times throughout the day (mostly evenings and/or weekends), typically around twice per week for one or two hours each session.  The lessons will take place at our clients' preferred location (typically their home or office). Interested candidates will receive specific details upon request.



    Qualifications:


    - Bachelor’s degree and/or teaching certification in a related field (English, Education, TESOL, etc.)


    - Minimum of two years ESL teaching experience
