2024 Call for Proposals

Closed for Submissions

Michigan Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (MITESOL) invites professionals involved with multilingual learners of English to submit proposals for our annual conference to be held at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor on Saturday, November 9th, 2024.

The theme of this year's conference, Nurturing Identities, Inspiring Growth, highlights the significant effect of social identities on the development of successful and supportive language learning environments.

As students, educators, researchers, and advocates, we seek to contribute to effective and inclusive communities of practice by considering and exploring the impact of intersecting identities on students' language learning. To this end, MITESOL specifically invites proposals that recognize the impact of cultural identities as a critical component in effective pedagogical theory and practical application in the language learning process.

MITESOL will also consider proposals on other topics and invites proposals related to all aspects of ESL/ELL, including recent research, teaching, learning, policy & advocacy, technology, curriculum/materials design, standards-based instruction, assessment, program administration, and professional development.

Please submit your ideas!
