Lake Michigan College Seeks Part-Time ESL Tutor

Lake Michigan College is seeking a qualified, experienced ESL tutor to provide face-to-face tutoring sessions with L2 English students enrolled at the college and maintain EAL support materials.

They have one part-time specialist tutor opening and they are seeking a tutor with experience in the following areas:

  • Teaching ESL and/or working as an ESL tutor within a language assistance program (either as a volunteer or as a paid employee)
  • Working one-on-one with students’ specific language development needs (e.g., vocabulary-building, spelling strategies, reading comprehension, etc.)
  • Explaining grammatical functions used in first- and second-year college courses
  • Working with L2 English speakers on pronunciation intelligibility
  • Working with colleagues in a team environment

Availability Dates: Spring 2019 term (from January 2019), inclusive of orientation to the Learning Assistance Center and tutor training
