Aquinas College School of Education seeks part-time ESL/Bilingual Program Instructors immediately for Fall 2018 and Spring 2019

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching preservice and inservice teachers (continuing education students) in a grant-funded program. Courses run in a hybrid, condensed format.

Our faculty members are responsible for delivering quality, student-centered, hands-on, active

instruction in order to prepare our students for success. We are looking for dynamic, caring

professionals dedicated to teaching excellence and professional scholarship, who are

committed to making a difference.

Instructors needed for the following courses:

FALL 2018

“Literacy for Diverse Learners”

This course is designed to present effective literacy instruction for linguistically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse students.

“Introduction to ESL”

The introductory course in the Aquinas College ESL program. It focuses on the teaching to and the learning of K-12 English language learners.


“Advanced Methods of ESL”

Focuses on two important areas of English language teaching; instructional strategies and materials.  

“Second Language Acquisition”

This course is an introduction to the subject of second language acquisition and learning. The prime objective of the course is to help educators better understand how people learn (or don’t learn) languages as well as to examine the complex issues surrounding SLA in educational contexts.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have a Master's degree in teaching English as a second language or in a closely related field. ESL teaching experience in K-12 is preferred. Overseas teaching experience, higher education experience, and experience learning another language are desirable.
