English Language Institute (ELI) Lecturer

Northern Michigan University's English Language Institute (ELI) is seeking lecturers to teach ESL courses to international students.  

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or related field. Two years of experience teaching ESL or a foreign language at the post-secondary level.  

Knowledge/skills/abilities required: excellent written and spoken communication skills in English. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work well as part of a team. Strong intercultural communication skills.  

The position will teach 2-3 courses in the English Language Institute, in addition to course preparation, office hours, and faculty meetings. Additional projects may be assigned.   The hourly rate is $17 for approximately 20-25 hours per week.
